Now then, why the sudden return to DA? Well, my friend, I (as you may or may not) am a theatre design and production major with an emphasis in stage management. And for my major I am required to take basic drawing I at the art school here at OCU.
Now, I took many art classes when I was growing up but by the time I got to middle school I stopped because I just wasn't learning anything. From that point onward I was pretty much exclusively self taught, and then theatre took over my life and I stopped drawing.
This drawing class has been so much fun though! I'm loving getting back into art after having not done it in years. Furthermore, I've discovered a new medium, which I love- india ink! I love ink drawings, I think they're so much fun! Ink washes are super fun too, and I may try dabbling in some watercolors soon.
Needless to say, when I get around to it, expect a mass post of artwork from me. None of it is amazing as we're basically just working on techniques, but some of it I'm a really proud of.
On other exciting notes, I'm now a sophmore in college... wheee. There's not much else to be said about that.
Slightly more exciting (okay, much more exciting), I have a wonder boyfriend now (named Brad). We've been together since about May, but we didn't get to see one another all summer long with the exception of Fourth of July weekend. He was up in Oklahoma City being in some shows for Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park, while I was in Dallas have the most amazing summer of my life. He's a acting major with an emphasis in stage combat and movement and has aspirations of being a fight choreographer. He's wonderful in his own cynical and sarcastic way- a nice balance to my perky optomism. Hahaha.
Even more exciting was my internship this summer! I had the opportunity to serve with a organization called Project Transformation. It's a group affiliated with Americorps and the United Methodist Church and I helped to run an eight week day camp for 70 of the most amazing kids in Oak Cliff in Dallas. I lived and worked with 100 of the most amazing interns ever. It was an amazing summer I can't even begin to describe here.
Just check it out.

Now, I need to go get ready to strike the set for the Importance of Being Ernest. Expect art soon though!
Peace out!
